Wayland Achilli 500XL- Ref 106IP One of the earliest versions Wayland Achilli 500XL, this one has been very well looked after by its owner.  The frame is in very good condition, largely unmarked unlike one would expect with regular usage. The kayak's skin is also in a very good condition, apart from some minor fading to the midnight blue canvas with the hull having no damage at all - there are scrape marks from beaching but these are just rub marks with no removal of hypalon pieces. The one piece spray deck with an integrated waist skirt is quite faded, so instead of the usual original black colour, its now grey. This spray deck also has an integrated cockpit cover.  This spraydeck is still functional and is fit for purpose as originally designed. The hull has 1 x wide central keep strip plus a pair of narrow keel strips (4cm wide) covering the pole stringers. Features on the front deck include reinforced hypalon flaps with eyelets that act as anchour points for the elastic 'cargo spider net', a central anchor holder plus toggle to hold the anchor shaft, and hypalon paddle pocket holders with paddle shaft toggles. The rear deck also has reinforced hypalon flaps for the elastic 'cargo spider net'. There is a pair of PET bottle holders on either rear side of the cockpit. The kayak has a pair of bow-to-stern deck lines, one a paracord rope and the other an elastic rope. The kayak is fitted with a standard pair of sponsons. On both front and rear decks are strap type nets, which the kayak owner has added to the kayak as a DIY solution (was not supplied by Wayland). Included with this kayak are two packing bags, both in very good unmarked condition, 2 x internal expedition storage bags, 1 x internal repair kit bag with alu spares, 1 x Four Point hoisting straps with bag, 1 x two part wooden paddle, deep rudder & rudder pedals, and a spare sponson.  The internal bags have short velcro straps which enables the bags to be suspended from the side gunwale 'ladder' frame inside the boat, within easy reach of the seated paddler. The one piece Four Point Hoisting straps is designed for when launching or retreiving the kayak in inacessable locations, such as at a high quay during low tide, or with a 'mother ship' like a yatch using its boom - there are four triple reinforced D-rings fitted fore and aft of the cockpit on the kayak to use with this hoisting strap unit.
